There is a great story about how this book came to be and the years of struggle—legal and otherwise—to get this book in your hands.
It’s a blog, so why not tell you a bit of it? Right?
Long story short: my first publisher was, at the beginning, fantastic, friendly, helpful, and super supportive. But a few weeks after the book was first released, the person I was working with and the one responsible for me signing with that publishing company passed away. A few more weeks passed, and I had no communication with the company. I tried multiple times to get in contact with them and to get any more copies of my book ordered that I could (I only had 50 copies), any information on the royalty (to this day I still have not received a single penny from any books sold by my first publisher), and to find out any and all information I could. No response.
Was this company even in business anymore? They had to be; the book was still for sale and selling.
Almost two years passed before I was contacted by a third party acting on behalf of the company. They tried to entice me to resign—it was a new business, and all previous agreements were null and void according to them. That is what they told me. Needless to say, I did not resign.
Unfortunately, it still took months and legal action, with Amazon helping me, to get that first addition removed from online sales. Yes, they were still selling copies of the book even in breach of contract and without a new contract considering what they told me. I still held all the rights, thank goodness. However, I did not get to keep the original book cover design. It was my design that the gentleman I was working with, who was an artist as well, drew for me. Yes, I paid him for it.
Anyway, it took four years to get this book back after its first publication, updated, and released again with this 2nd Edition.
I was not going to let this book be stolen from me or you because I truly believe the information in this book is extremely important for all of us. I was inspired to write it. I believe it was the Holy Spirit, but you can call this inspiration whatever you want.
I do miss that first gentleman I worked with, though. He was so talented and nice.
But here we are, six years after the first words were written for this book and four years after the first publication.
It was a pain, but it was worth it when I read this edition. There is so much more helpful information in here, and the writing is so much better—I’ve learned a lot since that first edition.
New York Times best-selling author Jim Stovall even wrote a foreword for the Second Edition. So many wonderful people have come into my life since that first release so many years ago, and some of them have believed in this book so much that they were willing to publicly support it. I am so joyful and humbled by their support.
I even had someone who read the first edition tell me that the information in the book helped them get out of a deep, dark pit of depression they fell into.
